Looks and tastes like a hardneck variety but it is actually a leek

Biennial, meaning it needs two growing seasons to complete the life cycle.  After the first growing season, it will be a single large bulb.  You can harvest the single bulb or opt for another growing season where the bulb should divide into cloves.
